The US Navy conducted several experiments (dubbed the Philadelphia Experiment, and Project Rainbow) under the supervision of Nikola Tesla, to cloak the USS Eldridge beyond detection by German technology. In the fall of 1943, the vessel disappeared in a flash of light for several minutes.
